WHAT GYM ACCESSORIES AND MEAL HELPERS I TAKE WITH ME WHEN I TRAVEL
Although I try to be a minimalist when it comes to packing (and also to most of the aspects of my life), so that I can keep up with my active lifestyle and healthy eating, there are a couple of things I carry in my luggage when I travel. ✈️ When travelling it’s easy to fall into bad habits that’s why having a few things with you can make your life easier, save you time and help you maintain your healthy habits.
1.Protein powder🔋
🟢 Since I am not eating meat & fish, sometimes it can be challenging to get enough protein when I am in a different place, so I always carry with me a bag of protein powder. The protein powder is light and will help you reach your protein goals especially when you’re having a day when you’re visiting places all day long.
2.A mini-blender 🥤🥣
🟢A blender can be a gym girl's best friend and the best 'partner in crime' for healthy eating. From soups to protein shakes and smoothies, it can get you out of trouble when you don't have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal. I have carried the mini-blender with me everywhere and it’s been very useful every single time.
TIP: I usually fill it in with (clean) socks 🧦🧦 to save the unused space. 😂
3.A set of resistance bands 🟥🟨🟦🟫
🟢Either I use them in the gym pairing them with machine exercises or I use them on the times when I don't have access to a gym, the bands can be super versatile! You can do exercises for all the muscle groups so that you won't have any excuses to skip your workouts. They are also light and can be stuffed within your clothes in the luggage.
4.Lifting gloves 🏋️♀️ 🧤
🟢I would not be able to work out efficiently without gloves. And it's actually quite tricky to find a good pair of lifting gloves. Those that I use have an adjustable band to be wrapped around the wrist. You also need to make sure you choose the right size, as if they're too loose or too tights, they won't be very helpful.
5.Knee protection 🦿
🟢I had situations when I had knee pain, either from running, from lifting heavy, or from walking too much. Thus, I have two knee pads with me, just in case. I also had one time when I did not have them with me and ended up paying 150$ for them, so now I always make sure I put them in my luggage everywhere I go.
6.Belt 🥋
🟢Since I like to lift heavy, I obviously have my belt with me wherever I travel. It takes only one time of not doing the right thing to get an injury and I prefer not putting my health at risk.
7.My food scale ⚖️
🟢Since I calculate my macros, a scale is essential. While for some people this may sound extreme, I’ve been using the food scale for many years and I would not be able to live without it. It’s pretty easy to underestimate or overestimate your portion size. The scale makes your lives easy by telling you the right numbers so that you can keep your nutrition in place.
